ABOUT WD1

Water District 1 is an organized government entity created to distribute water consistent with water rights on record with the Idaho Department of Water Resources. Water districts are the only water delivery entities specifically authorized to administer the delivery of Idaho water from public water sources. Distribution of water within a water district is accomplished by the elected and appointed watermaster.

Water District 1 regulates Idaho surface-water diversions from the Snake River upstream from Milner Dam, in addition to regulating surface-water diversions from Snake River tributaries upstream from the Snake River’s confluence with the Blackfoot River.
