Water District 1 is an organized government entity created to distribute water consistent with water rights on record with the Idaho Department of Water Resources. Water districts are the only water delivery entities specifically authorized to administer the delivery of Idaho water from public water sources. Distribution of water within a water district is accomplished by the elected and appointed watermaster.

Water District 1 regulates Idaho surface-water diversions from the Snake River upstream from Milner Dam, in addition to regulating surface-water diversions from Snake River tributaries upstream from the Snake River’s confluence with the Blackfoot River.

This is a compiled list of Idaho Water District Descriptions, including service areas, district numbers, and the region that administers the distribution and delivery of water to water users.

Contact information for Watermasters & Staff for each water district can be found here on the Idaho Department of Water Resources website.

Under the “Current Data” tab there are two options that provide this information.
